We stayed at Coen's Place early January, we were 8 adults and two large breed dogs (children). What a pleasure from the first booking and interaction with Coen until we finally arrived and during our 8 days stay there. The house is very well equipped and really feels like Home away from Home. The house is more than spacious enough for large groups, giving everyone their own space if needed, the best treat was being on the beach and being able to take our dogs for walks every morning and afternoon. The house is also well fenced to keep your fur kids safe. The only thing I would do different next time is to stay for longer! Thank you Coen...we will see you again.

We stayed at Coen's Place for 5 nights at the end of March. From our first contact with Coen to the final goodbye we were extremely well looked after and nothing was too much to ask. The house caters for every need and comfort with ample space and all the necessary amenities and more. The beach is exquisite with perfect waves, sand and rocky outcrops for children to explore. We saw dolphins on two mornings of our stay. The house is safe, secure, perfect for a large family and catered for a delightful and soul restoring holiday. Highly recommended.

We stayed as a group of friends (6) at Coen’s Place for 3 nights in September including our Poodle for whom the house was perfect and securely fenced but right on the beach with stunning views of the beach and ocean. Firstly we found Coen extremely friendly and accommodating from the moment we arrived. The actual house which has a very relaxed laid back atmosphere is completely fitted out for away from home comfort with every single appliance you would normally have at home and great user friendly accommodation. The very comfortable accommodation allowed for private time away from the group when so required eg there is a second upstairs lounge with a well fitted library and a second tv and space for quiet computer work and beautiful vistas of the stunning stretch of beach and the ever changing ocean.

We will definitely return as in addition to the above the house is situated in a convenient quiet location easily accessible to explore Paternoster St Helena Bay and surrounds. Coen’s Place comes highly recommended especially if your dogs are included in your travels.

Whenever we go on holiday we have a couple of “not negotiables” – our 3 fury kids HAVE got to come along and the chosen holiday home needs to be right on the beach front. We look for a completely pet friendly place, i.e. fully fenced, so that we don’t need to stress about where they are, a wonderful, serene, happy home where we can enjoy the ever changing landscapes of the ocean, sunrises and sunsets, as well as long beach walks, of course. Our choice was Britannia Bay – an absolutely pristine, free of pollution, magnificent stretch of beach with hardly any human being in sight throughout our stay.

At Coen’s place we found all of this and SO much more!

The house is in prime location to make the most of the daily sunshine and offers great shelter from the sometimes strong West Coast winds. It is very spacious with an indoor fireplace and outdoor braai area, which made it possible to spend the majority of our time outdoors, despite the early morning / evening temperature having dropped considerably in May already. Just about EVERYTHING is there – starting with firewood / firelighters, continuing with shampoo and finishing off with any ambient candle you could possibly wish for. You can feel at every corner that owner Coen has invested a LOT of love, effort, energy and attention to detail in his home. This home and location are truly the closest to heaven you will ever get whilst being alive, whether you’re coming for a weekend or a long stay, like us for 12 days. We had an incredibly peaceful holiday which touched our souls.

Host Coen is a wonderful man who welcomed our 2 large and 1 small dogs with open arms – a truly rare find in the self-catering home world. Our dogs needed a holiday by the time we left, long early morning and afternoon beach walks were just so exhausting!!

We will be back as soon as we possibly can!!

What a wonderful 2 weeks we had at Coen's Place...not only dog friendly(with fresh water on arrival),but also dogsafe. Everything you want on holiday...beautiful house,stunning views,enough wood, and all appliances and more that you are used to. Will definitely go back and back again. We stayed at Coen's Place for two weeks and made the best memories. The location is perfect and we really felt at home. Coen made sure we had everything we needed - and more! My kids, and even our dog, didn't want to come back home. We will most certainly return for the beautiful views, the comfortable home, and the kind host.

From arrival, we felt feel right at home at Coen's Place. There were so many extras and thoughtful gestures from the owner.

This is also the perfect location, right on the beach. The seaviews are beautiful and the bath overlooking the beach was an absolute treat.

Communication was brilliant from my 1st enquiry right through to departure. Can definitely recommend this place. Wish we could have stayed longer!

From the moment you arrive, you feel like you are home.
It really is a little piece of paradise, for an entire family (including animals) to enjoy.
Enjoying your cup of coffee on the patio watching the waves, to falling asleep listening to the waves crashing, what a treat!
Coen has thought of everything and more, including making sure we had everything we needed for loadshedding.
The biggest selection of movies, our children were able to pull themselves away from the beach to have some quiet time inside while the adults were able to enjoy the braai right on the patio watching the ocean.
Bathtime was a pleasure with the bath overlooking the sea, for the adults and for the kids!
Not only that, our animals have come home utterly exhausted after playing for hours on the beach and being able to come sit with us outside, safely inside the fenced area.
We saw whales and dolphins playing right in front of us!
There are so many things you don't think to pack, and Coen has thought of it all.
The only suggestion would be getting bigger coffee cups so I can sit and drink my coffee watching the sea for longer! - I didn't want to leave!
We can not wait to come back to our beach front, family friendly, has everything you need home away from home!

Louise, I find it impossible to answer this...except to say it possibly increased my lifespan considerably. Bigger coffee cups?...thought I have the biggest, certainly in my little town/village. But whenever I go to the big city of Cape Town again, which is unlikely to be anytime soon, I'll make a point of finding such, even if I have to offer bribes to those fancy stores

Coen's place is an absolute gem. This house is equipped with everything you didn't know you need. A home away from home. Coen is the perfect host. The first thing he did on our arrival was to give our dogs a big bowl of water after the long journey in the car. The dogs were safe and loved our daily beach trips. The bath in the main bedroom is something to be experienced. We wish we could stay longer!

We spent a glorious 10 days at Coen's place. The house is equipped with everything you need for a very comfortable stay. The best part is being on the beach, being able to see the sea at all times, and the protected braai area from the wind that was howling the last 2 days! We felt safe there, and knowing we could set alarm when we went out was an added bonus! The fenced in property makes it ideal for people with dogs. The kitchenette upstairs is very convenient so that you do not have to go downstairs every time you want to make coffee etc. Coen also communicated well regarding a few small issues that I thought he needed to know about. We really had a wonderful time and can recommend this stay!

What an incredible relaxing weekend away. Coen’s place is a lovely furnished, huge home on the beach front, making even those hard to please family members smile. The fenced in areas provide piece of mind for your fur kids, as well the dishwasher allows for less time in the kitchen and more playtime. The children enjoyed relaxing upstairs with a movie or two after supper. There is something for everyone. Only down side was that our stay was so short, but we still managed to totally unwind.

We spend 5 nights at this delightful property. We choose this venue mainly as it provided a safe environment for our dog, but it also provided all the comforts from home in a tranquil setting. One of the best home from home experiences we have had and will definitely book return visits in the future.

Ons was bevoorreg om vir 19 dae in Coen se huis te bly, wat 'n heerlike bederf! Uit die hoofslaapkamer se bed (en bad) kyk jy direk uit op die see, dit is so naby dat jy voel of jy eintlik op die strand sit. Ons was vriendelik ontvang deur Willene en sy of Coen het vinnig gereageer op enige navrae. Die huis is pragtig en toegerus met als wat jy benodig vir 'n lekker lang vakansie. Al die ekstra beskikbare items soos toiletpapier, seep vir wasmasjien en skottelgoedwasser ens was 'n aangename verrassing. Die kinders het die groot DVD versameling baie geniet en die WiFi beslis 'n pluspunt! Die huis was elke week skoongemaak en linne geruil, so ons kon heerlik ontspan. Ons kan werklik sy huis met 'n oop gemoed aanbeveel, jy sal nie spyt wees nie.

Coen se huis is n absolute voorreg!! Ons het soos konings daar gebly. So in die natuur, die branders wat breek, dit was net een groot plesier! Ongelooflike huis so op die see. Niks kort in Coen se huis nie, die meubels, die natuur, die breekware....tot ons honde kind wou nie terugkom huistoe nie!!! Dankie Coen en Nelda....julle is stunning mense!! Die visbraai en mosselbraai terwyl die branders breek, whau ongelooflik....daar is nie nog so huis en so pragtige privaat strand nie. Coen se huis is n bekoring en ons sal weer gaan kuier. Glo my jy gaan ver soek vir so ongelooflike huis! Woorde is nie genoeg om 'n vakansie by Coen se plek op te som nie. Lui lekker en net ongelooflik! Dankie weer. Dit was 'n voorreg!!

My family and I were lucky enough to spend the whole month of October at Coen's Place. The location of the house is really incredible, with direct access onto the beach. The bath in the main bedroom overlooking the beach is special. The house is also really well-equipped with all the facilities you need for a great self-catering holiday. I was working full-time and can confirm that I had no issues with the internet. Definitely recommend this place!

Location, Location, Location. What more can I say. We stayed for four nights and had a great time. Our four furkids enjoyed the relaxing break with us and they had lots of fun at the beach.

We spent a glorious 4 days at Coen's Place on Brittania Beach. The location is fantastic, just off the beach. A secure house with all the required facilities. A downstairs patio and braai, and an upstairs deck well suited for checking out the stars at night. The bedrooms are comfortable, the entertainment areas are well-appointed, and the kitchen has all the appliances one needs. There is also a variety of bird life and occasional small creatures (eg. tortoises) wandering around. The beach is spectacular and it was great to wake up to the waves and view every morning. Highly recommended.

Coen's place is right on the beach at Brittania Bay, with incredible views from the braai area and deck. The house was very comfortable with an indoor fireplace downstairs plenty of space throughout the house. It is both kid and pet friendly and I can highly recommend it for any family or group of friends looking for a relaxing beach holiday.

Location, as they say, is everything. Coen's place gets 10 out of 10 for it's perfect beachfront location , but there is so much more to mention. Communication and check in was fast, efficient and friendly, The house was fresh and clean and the blinds and windows were opened before our arrival, so we were met by the salty see breeze when we walked through the door! Lovely! We felt right at home. Inside - for us - there is just the right balance between luxury and relaxed beach vibe. Everything is as explained in the listing. Since it is winter now, we particularly loved the sunny main bedroom and upstairs patio. The house lets in a lot light! We slept with the blinds open to watch the stars at night. Very private and we felt safe all the time. We spent a lot of time by the braai / patio downstairs, which is well protected from the wind. This is the kind of holiday home you want to return to time and again. Lots of space too and pet friendly (fully fenced) Highly recommended!
