Merry Pebbles Resort is situated on the banks of the Sabie River, 1 km from Sabie village. AA Highly Recommended self-catering accommodation, as well as 3 Star caravan and camping sites are available.

Heated pools, water slides, a play park, tennis, hiking, trout fishing, and mountain biking make this resort an ideal holiday option for the family. Sites such as the Kruger National Park, Sudwala Caves, Blyde River Canyon, and God's Window are all within easy reach.

Services such as an ATM, Wi-Fi, gas refills, ice sales, fire wood sales, a restaurant, liquor store, and mini-market are available on site. Please kindly note that no motorcycles or quad bikes are permitted on the premises.

Family friendly: There are heated and cold water pools with water slides, mini-golf, play park, trampolines, giant outdoor chess, jungle gym and an entertainment hall.

Facilities
A fully licensed a la Carte’ restaurant is situated onsite, open every night as well as for lunch (closed Monday lunch) if you do not intend catering for yourself or braaing (BBQ'ing) you can order take-aways, or alternatively come into the very cosy and popular restaurant frequented by the local residents in Sabie,  breakfast is served on a pre-booked basis.

Merry Pebbles is essentially a family orientated holiday resort, there is however a small conference venue with a capacity of 25 delegates available on the premises. We do cater for small intimate conferences only.

Merry Pebbles offers our guests more than just a stop over, the resort is in itself a holiday destination with facilities which include the likes of heated and cold water pools, water slides, flood-lit tennis court, mini-golf (Putt Putt), outdoor chess, entertainment hall, play parks with trampolines, mountain bike and hiking trails start right on the resort boundary. The Sabie River at these upper reaches is safe and can be used for tubing, swimming, trout fishing, and canoeing. All these activities and extensive facilities onsite ensure that your entire family will enjoy their vacation at this one stop holiday venue.

At Merry Pebbles Resort we pride ourselves with the fact that the resort itself is a holiday destination, services that add value to the destination include gas-refills, ice and firewood sales, coin operated laundry, ATM, WiFi & internet access, shops that sell basic commodities and a liquor store. Therefore once you have arrived at the resort there is no need to leave the premises again, unless of course you want to explore the sights and scenes in the area.

With Sabie being situated centrally on the Panorama Route as well as being the gateway to the Kruger National Park, access to all the popular tourist attractions are within reach of an easy day trip. To mention a few, The Kruger National Park (Phabeni gate) 52km, Gods Window, Bourke's Luck Potholes, Blyde River Canyon, Pilgrims Rest, Sudwala Caves and numerous waterfalls (Lone Creek, Bridal Veil, Horse Shoe, Sabie, Mac Mac, Forest, Maria Shires, Berlin and Lisbon Falls) you will be spoilt for choice.

The town of Sabie (Rapport & Kwela, Town of the Year 2012) a small forestry village is situated at an elevation of 1050m above the sea level on the Mpumalanga Escarpment and is free of malaria and bilharzia. Sabie is in a summer rainfall area with an annual average of 1000mm of rainfall. Summer temperatures fall in the minimum range of of 18ºC to a maximum average of 31ºC, whilst the winter average low's are 3ºC and average high’s of 23ºC can be expected. Snow although not every year does cover the mountain tops in the vicinity from time to time. Hence the name Thaba Chweu - White Mountain given to the municipal area.

Accommodation
The accommodation at Merry Pebbles Resort has been designed to accommodate families, and therefore are not suitable for large groups since most units have double beds.
All accommodation units are fully equipped with crockery, cutlery, kitchen utensils, bedding, and towels for the specified number of guests per unit. (SUPPLY OWN SWIMMING TOWELS), fridges, at least a two plate stove, TV with DSTV hotel package, braai, & patio furniture.
All units are serviced daily, excepting for dishes.

Nestling on the banks of the pristine, crystal clear Sabie River against a backdrop of lush vegetation Merry Pebbles is a true bird watcher’s paradise. (Kingfisher's, Long Crested Eagles, Fish Eagles, Gymnogene, Owles, Palm Swift, Swallows, Martins, Knysna & Purple Crested Lourie, Burchells Coucal, Wagtails, Robins, Shrikes, Mannekins, Secretary Bird, Egrets, Ducks, Storks, Whyda's, Weavers, Mouse Birds, and many LBJ's).

The resort offers a wide variety of activities for all the family. Children can play in the heated or cold water pools on the water slides and in the play-park. New attractions include Outdoor Chess, as well as Mini-Golf (Putt-Putt). Fishing is permitted, the river is stocked on a regular basis with Rainbow Trout, whilst Yellow Fish occur naturally in the river. Tubing on the river is one of the most popular activities at the resort, many different sizes and colour tubes or boats are now available for sale at reception.

Whether you like fly-fishing for trout or yellow-fish the Sabie River Trout Angling Association gives access to both (licenses for the Sabie and Pilgrims Rest Fly fishing club are available at reception). Within the resort licenses are not required, fishing is not restricted to flyfishing tackle on the resort by guests.

The more energetic can take to the Loerie Hiking Trail, the Ceylon mountain bike trails on Komatiland Forest plantations (permits sold at reception).

Heated and cold water swimming pools as well as the water slides are some of the star features at the resort. A recreation hall with table tennis, pool tables, video games and Big screen TV will provide fun for everyone. There is also an extensive play-park with trampolines and jungle-gym. A floodlit tennis court is available for guests exclusive use on site, the rental of tennis rackets and sale of tennis balls are available at reception.

Access is available to the local Sabie Country Club where free temporary membership is valid for all guests while staying at Merry Pebbles. The local country club offers golf, squash, bowls, pool tables and a full size snooker table.

Restaurant
When not in the mood for cooking or braaing i.e. making a BBQ at your accommodation or site, why not make use of our cosy restaurant frequented by the locals and guests alike.
We offer a wide variety of dishes, ranging from traditional "potjiekos" through to pizzas and trout a specialty when in Sabie. However our steaks are legendary. With ice cold beers and drinks in the summer to cool you down, or a warm log fire, red wine and Irish Coffee to warm you up on chilly winter nights.
