Location
The Elephant Lake Inn is located in the town of St Lucia, Kwa Zulu Natal,
surrounded by the iSimangaliso Wetland Park, South Africa's first World Heritage
Site. St Lucia is 25km from the main N2 route between Durban and Swaziland, 75
km South from Hluhluwe town and 80 km North of Richards Bay.
Facilities
The Inn boasts with 34 modern, en-suite, air-conditioned rooms. All rooms are
equipped with flat screen TV's and selected DSTV channels, tea/coffee making
facilities, electronic wall safes; hair dryer and full range of bathroom
amenities.
The Inn has two levels. The ground level has 16 rooms, all with a private patio
leading out to a sparkling pool and indigenous garden, an outdoor Breakfast Lapa
and braai area. The Upper level has 18 rooms overlooking the pool and indigenous
garden.
Individual braai's are available for guest private use.

Full English Buffet Breakfasts are served from 07h00 - 09h30 daily.
Dinners are served from 18h00 - 21h00 on Request Only.
Soft drinks are available for purchase at the Inn, No alcohol are sold at the
Inn, Guests do however have easy access to all restaurants, bars and liquor
stores within St Lucia.
Guests and groups accommodated at the Inn may also make use of the restaurant
and bar facilities at the Elephant Lake Hotel.
Activities
Elephant Lake Safaris is the resident safari and activities provider that offer
preferential rates and services to guest and clients of the Elephant Lake Inn
and the Elephant Lake Hotel.
With the ideal location of the Inn, guests have a vast range of activities to
choose from, all which could be booked and arranged by the Inn.

Elephant Lake Safaris also offer shuttle services locally in and around the town
of St Lucia as well as nearby attractions. Airport transfers are also provided
to and from Richards Bay Airport, Mkuze airport and King Shaka International
Airport.
Excursions to the Eastern shores of iSimangaliso Wetland Park is highly
recommended as it is South Africa's first Natural World Heritage Site,
iSimangaliso or in English - "Place of wonder and miracles" is an exceptional
place that is extremely rich in Fauna & Flora, Second World War history, Zulu
Culture and is a prime example of conservation and preservation. iSimangaliso is
reclaimed from human interference as decades old Pine and Eucalyptus forests
were removed to allow natural forests and grass lands to once again flourish,
bringing back the prolific wildlife from yesteryears.
With the entrance gate a mere 2km away from St Lucia Town, iSimangaliso is
accessible to all types of vehicles as the 35 km road to the Cape Vidal beach is
tarred all the way. Along the route to the beach there are numerous link and
scenic roads that could be taken, these roads are all hard surface gravel roads
and once again all vehicle friendly with the exception of tour coaches. General
game viewing is superb with three of the BIG 5 present (leopard, white rhino and
buffalo) and with a wealth of birdlife present across the 5 eco-systems. Guests
are assured to enjoy the outstanding natural values that include exceptional
biodiversity, ecological processes and superlative beauty. Fact is, there are
very few places left in the world where guest can enjoy game viewing and a swim
in the Indian ocean ........ all within 3 hours!!!
iSimangaliso is truly a unique place and stand true to the wise words of Madiba,
South Africa's former President Nelson Mandela. Madiba said - "The Wetland Park
must be the only place on the globe where the world's oldest land mammal (the
rhinoceros) and the world's biggest terrestrial mammal (the Elephant) share and
ecosystem with the world's oldest fish (the Coelacanth) and the world's biggest
marine mammal (the Whale)
Guests can also enjoy a day on the unspoilt beaches, swim in the warm waters of
the Indian Ocean or just simply stroll through town exploring all the
